Walking - West Head -  8 April 2016

The weather cleared to overcast but fine for our walk at West Head. We walked from the picnic area at Commodore Heights along the Resolute Track to view two aboriginal rock engraving sites. The engravings are at least 2,000 years old and depict fish, eels and a human figure. Closer to the picnic area is the so called “red hand” cave containing the image of a human hand silhouetted in red ochre.

After refreshments we drove down to the West Head lookout to enjoy magnificent views of Lion Island, Barrenjoey Lighthouse, Pittwater, Palm Beach, etc. A great morning of fellowship was had by all.
