David Hutchinson, a first class honours graduate in chemical engineering, spent his career working in the environmental field. He is now retired and has been researching climate change issues for the last two years. David’s very interesting presentation focussed on the basic science and current data on the state of our planet. The science and data highlighted general misinformation in the community by showing where perceptions are refuted by facts. David then provided information on what the world in general is doing to address climate change and what Australia and China in particular are doing. The presentation ended with a summary of where we stand, and scientific predictions of what the world will look like once the earth’s temperature stabilises at a new higher level.
